A) General Statement  

Purpose (What is the goal of your production?) 

We aim to create a concept music video that displays the wonders of idiosyncrasy and being unique. We want to challenge stereotypes and combat media imperialism by conveying a message to be yourself and do what makes you happy- you do not need to comply with stereotypes in order to be liked or loved!  

We aim to include a variety of different shot types as well as locations to keep the audience engaged and make it a pleasurable video to watch. Another way we plan to achieve this is by following theorist including Goodwin, Frith and Dyer to keep the audience’s attention and grow our brand image.

  Target audience  

• Our target audience has an equal spread between male and females ages from 15- 35 years old.

• We want to target a younger generation as those are the most affected by social media and the pressures of perfectionism- a subject we feel strongly against.

• In terms of socioeconomic classification, our demographic would be C1-E

General description of your production 

• We plan to use many locations and take a variety of shots to make sure during the editing process is smooth and we have a lot to work with.

• We want to visit contrasting location such as empty field as well as the hustle and bustle of London. This juxtaposition is important because it will keep the audience engaged as well as reinforce our overall message to be yourself wherever you are!

• Some of our locations include Vintage Shop (Covent Garden), St Dunstan’s Church yard (London bridge), field, the Barbican

• During the instrumental we plan to include many jump cuts to keep up the pace of the video and stop the audience from feeling bored. We will make sure to cut on the beat of the track and therefore project high production values (J. Stewart)

Our Production will be unique and quirky which will be a contrast to most other music videos. The pre-production of the video will be extensive meaning the production period will go smoothly and stick to the time schedule.
